Liberty in Action: 250th Anniversary Challenge

In 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary, and Scouting America is leading the way with a brand-new initiative: The Liberty in Action 250th Anniversary Challenge.

This special program invites Scouts from all ranks—from Cub Scouts to Venturers—to connect the founding ideals of 1776 with the responsibilities of citizenship today. The challenge is built on four key pillars:

  • Exploring Founding Ideals: Connect principles like liberty and equality to modern life.

  • Civic Spirit: Discover how Scouting has shaped American history through service and leadership.

  • Historical Exploration: Visit local landmarks or research the revolutionary history in your own backyard.

  • Service Milestones: Complete a project that makes a tangible impact in your community.

By participating, Scouts can earn a limited-edition commemorative patch and join a nationwide movement of service and reflection. Let’s show how the Pacific Crest Council puts “Liberty in Action” every day!
