Scouts BSA
Youth Ages 11-17
DISCOVER THE VALUE OF SCOUTING
Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for boys and girls ages 11 through 17. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
LEADERSHIP
In Scouts BSA, youth take on leadership roles, developing essential skills like communication, problem-solving, and project management. As they progress, they’ll have opportunities to mentor and inspire others. By leading their peers, Scouts build confidence and become capable leaders.
SERVICE
Scouts BSA emphasizes the importance of serving others and giving back to the community. Through service projects, Scouts develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of social responsibility. By helping those in need, Scouts become active citizens and make a positive impact.
PERSONAL GROWTH
The Scouts BSA program fosters personal growth by encouraging youth to set goals, develop self-discipline, and persevere through challenges. As Scouts progress, they’ll cultivate a strong sense of self-awareness, self-confidence, and character. This foundation will serve them well throughout their lives.
ADVENTURE
Scouts BSA offers unparalleled adventure opportunities, from camping and hiking to rock climbing and whitewater rafting. Through these experiences, Scouts develop a deeper appreciation for nature, challenge themselves, and build lifelong friendships. With adventure comes growth, and Scouts BSA provides the ultimate platform for exploration and discovery.
Scouts BSA Advancement Plan
In Scouting, advancement is the process by which a member meets certain requirements and earns recognition. Youth in Scouts BSA plan their advancement and progress at their own pace as they meet each challenge. The Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps them gain self-confidence. The steps in the advancement system help Scouts grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others.
